We have seen above that blinds are flexible when it comes to the amount of light that you want to come into a room. Well the same is true for privacy. If the flow of traffic outside the house is one way then you can adjust them to face the other way. You could choose top down blinds where the top half folds down so you have light coming in but no one can see into the house. Also even when you have the blind’s slats open it is much harder to see in as it distorts the view.
5. Upkeep and Maintenance are easy
Curtains can be hard to clean, sure you can hoover them but if you want to wash them you may have to get them dry cleaned or at least put them in the washing machine, iron them and rehang them which is not the easiest of jobs. With most blinds a quick dust or wipe and they are as good as new. The blinds will stay as good as new for years and years especially if you have wooden or metal blinds; they can last a lifetime! Just keep them until you want to change the look of the room and then replace them.
6. Price
Curtains can be very expensive if you want good fabrics as they use a lot of fabric. Fabric blinds use far less material and are therefore much cheaper. As stated before if you want wooden blinds and can’t afford them then faux wood is available which is much more cost effective and looks just like the real thing.
